Beverly Johnson is a model, actress, singer, and businesswoman but she is also a mother to a beautiful daughter. She was the first African-American model to appear on the cover of Vogue in 1974.
Not only is she from my hometown of Buffalo, NY but she is as beautiful inside as she is on the outside. She shared with me about how passion is important but there are also so many possibilities. She encouraged her own daughter to do what ever she was passionate about, after graduating college of course. She said to me, “you never know what is around the corner.” Her daughter is part of that inspiration and passion because Johnson wanted to be a Role Model for her but also her four wonderful grandchildren.
Nowadays, Johnson recently finished her Memoir, is producing a few different projects, and Warner Bros. has even purchased the rights to her memoir to create a mini series! She has had such a successful career around everything that she was passionate about.
Beverly is thoroughly enjoying her retirement but it definitely has not slowed her down. She continues to inspires every single day.
Her three best pieces of advice for those who want to stay feeling amazing even after retirement:
- It’s never too late
- It’s a mindset
- Anything that you pay attention to, a number one priority should be yourself.
I am so grateful for Beverly’s friendship and light. She is a true inspiration to everyone in inspiring you to live your dreams.
